Extra coverage with that dewy finish ?L.A Girl Pro Coverage High Definition Long Wear Illuminating Foundation -Review
I have been meaning to write about foundations lately because I think i usually lack jn that area. But since I had a very long time off the blog and during that time I had a good time using this one foundation that slowly grew up on me. I posted about the LA girl pro coverage high definition long wear Illuminating Foundation on my social media and was requested to review it. So it makes perfect sense I write about it now.
So without further adieu, let’s just jump on to the review
L. A Girl Pro Coverage High Definition Long Wear Illuminating Foundation :
PRO.coverage high-definition long wear illuminating liquid foundation is ideal for a flawless looking, full coverage finish. Lightweight formula is comfortable for all day wear. Paraben free formula with added anti-oxidants helps hydrate and improve the skin’s appearance. Now available to extend the color range even further, an innovative white foundation mixer to adjust and customize color.
The LA girl pro coverage high definition long wear Illuminating Foundation comes in a clear plastic bottle with a pump dispenser. I really like foundations that come with a pump dispenser because it means no contamination of the product. The sturdy bottle and the pump dispenser make it travel friendly however the black cap is made of somewhat cheaper plastic and doesn’t look so sturdy to me.
The LA Girl Pro Coverage High Definition Long Wear Illuminating Foundation has a thick liquid that isn’t too runny but doesn’t feel lumpy or paste like either. The texture is super smooth and the foundation is well blended with the base ingredients so you don’t have to see any separation between ingredients that usually happens when Illuminating foundations are left standing for longer duration. The foundation has a strong paint like smell that I absolutely abhor but once applied it disappears completely ( or may be you get used to it?). So if you can stand that that smell for 2 minutes, then keep on reading because we are heading to to the good parts now.
The foundation is medium to high coverage and has a very dewy finish. Once applied it blends like a dream both with brush (I prefer paddle brush) and sponge. Both ways it gives a smooth dewy and flawless finish without being streaky or cakey. Since its an Illuminating Foundation, so it doesn’t set or get dry with time and you need to put on setting powder to make sure it stays there. The powder with this foundation is very important because if you are like me and don’t bother to set your foundation, every time you put your phone to your ear, you will find this foundation plastered all over the screen of your phone, yes its that much transferable. So once you put it on, do set it with powder to make it last without slipping off your face with time. The best thing is that even after setting, the dewyness of the foundation still peaks through and makes your skin look healthy and glowing. Even though its a full coverage foundation, you can still sheer it out considerably with a damp makeup sponge or even buildup the coverage as per your desire without going cakey.
The foundation lasts up to 3-4 hours on me without setting it with powder and a good 6-7 hours when I set it nicely. After this I need to touch it up on my T-zone because it gets oily and goopy over there. Just a little patting of your pressed powder and you are as good as new again!
I have a kind of love hate relationship with this foundation as I absolutely love its finish, texture and how it blends like a dream. Also its coverage is so versatile that you can wear it every day by sheering it out or build up the coverage for a night out. What I don’t like is the strong paint like smell that puts me off instantly and also how I have to set it every time to avoid its transfer to everything that touches my face. But for the price, I think it does a pretty decent job especially in winters as it gives a very hydrated, healthy look to your face. I still have to wear it in summers to see how its fares, however I have a feeling that it wouldn’t be a good idea to use it in summer as its already very moist and hydrating.
The LA Girl Pro Coverage High Definition Long Wear Illuminating Foundation comes in 15 shades and one White foundation mixer. The shade I got is Fair, which has a neutral undertone that leans towards yellow (For Reference : I am Soft Beige in Wet n wild photofocus foundation, Fair in Masarrat Misbah Silk Foundation and NC25-30 in Mac)
